1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Hooked ("we," "our," or "us") regarding your use of the Hooked mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Service").

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service. These Terms apply to all users of the Service, including event organizers and attendees.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated Terms on our website and updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

2. Service Description

Hooked is an event-based social networking platform that facilitates connections between attendees at real-world events. Our service is designed to enhance the event experience by helping people discover and connect with other single attendees.

What Hooked Does

• Creates temporary event spaces with unique QR codes
• Facilitates profile creation and matching during events
• Enables real-time messaging between matched users
• Provides event organizers with engagement analytics
• Automatically deletes all data when events end

What Hooked Is Not

• A traditional dating app with permanent profiles
• A general social networking platform
• A data collection or advertising service
• A replacement for real-world social interactions
• A guarantee of romantic connections or relationships

3. Event-Limited Service

Service Limitations

• Event-Specific: The Service is only available during designated events
• No Permanent Profiles: User profiles exist only for the duration of events
• No Cross-Event Data: Information from one event does not carry over to others
• No Ongoing Matching: Matching algorithms reset for each event
• No Persistent Communication: Messages are deleted when events end

Event Participation

To use Hooked, you must:

• Be physically present at a Hooked-enabled event
• Scan the event-specific QR code to access the service
• Create a temporary profile for that specific event
• Comply with event rules and venue policies
• Be at least 18 years old

4. User Accounts

To use Hooked, you must create a temporary account for each event. Account creation is simple and requires minimal information.

Account Creation

• Provide accurate and truthful information
• Use a valid email address for verification
• Create a profile that represents you authentically
• Upload only photos of yourself
• Comply with our content guidelines

Account Responsibilities

• Maintain the security of your account credentials
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
• Use the Service only for its intended purpose
• Respect the privacy and rights of other users
• Comply with all applicable laws and regulations

Prohibited Activities

• Creating fake or misleading profiles
• Harassing, bullying, or threatening other users
• Sharing inappropriate or offensive content
• Attempting to access other users' accounts
• Using the Service for commercial purposes without permission
• Violating event venue policies or local laws

5. Temporary Profiles

Profile Lifecycle

Profile Content Guidelines

• Use recent, clear photos of yourself only
• Write authentic, respectful bios
• Do not include personal contact information
• Do not use offensive or inappropriate language
• Do not impersonate others or create fake profiles

6. Data Deletion

Deletion Timeline

• Immediate: Profile and match data deleted when event ends
• Within 24 hours: All user-generated content removed
• Within 30 days: Backup data and cached information deleted
• Ongoing: No data retention beyond event period

Manual Deletion

You can request immediate deletion of your data at any time:

• Use the "Delete Profile" feature in the app
• Contact us at privacy@hooked-app.com
• Request deletion through customer support

Data Retention Exceptions

We may retain certain information in limited circumstances:

• To comply with legal obligations
• To investigate violations of these Terms
• To prevent fraud or abuse
• Aggregated, anonymous data for service improvement

7. User Conduct

Hooked is designed to facilitate positive, respectful connections. All users must conduct themselves appropriately both online and at events.

Expected Behavior

• Be respectful and considerate of other users
• Use appropriate language and content
• Respect personal boundaries and consent
• Report inappropriate behavior to event organizers
• Follow event venue rules and policies

Prohibited Behavior

• Harassment, bullying, or threatening behavior
• Sharing inappropriate, offensive, or explicit content
• Impersonating others or creating fake profiles
• Attempting to access other users' accounts
• Using the Service for commercial purposes
• Violating event venue policies or local laws
• Attempting to circumvent our security measures

Consequences

Violation of these conduct rules may result in:

• Immediate account suspension or termination
• Removal from current and future events
• Reporting to event organizers or authorities
• Legal action if necessary

8. Intellectual Property

Hooked and its content are protected by intellectual property laws. Users retain rights to their content while granting us limited licenses for service operation.

• Hooked platform, software, and technology
• Brand names, logos, and trademarks
• Service design and user interface
• Aggregated, anonymous usage data

Your Rights

• Ownership of your profile content and photos
• Control over your personal information
• Right to delete your data at any time
• Freedom to use the Service as intended

License Grant

By using Hooked, you grant us a limited, temporary license to:

• Display your profile content to other event attendees
• Process your data for service operation
• Store your information during the event period
• Use aggregated data for service improvement

9. Limitations of Liability

Service Limitations

• We do not guarantee matches or connections
• We are not responsible for user behavior or interactions
• We do not verify user identity or background
• We do not guarantee event quality or safety
• We are not responsible for venue policies or conditions

Liability Exclusions

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Hooked shall not be liable for:

• Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• Lost profits, data, or business opportunities
• Personal injury or property damage
• Emotional distress or mental anguish
• Damages arising from user interactions
• Service interruptions or technical issues

Maximum Liability

Our total liability to you for any claims arising from your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to us, if any, in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Termination

These Terms remain in effect until terminated by either party. Termination may occur automatically or by user action.

Automatic Termination

• When the event ends (for all event participants)
• When you delete your profile
• When your account is suspended or terminated
• When these Terms are updated and you don't accept them

Termination by Us

We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service if:

• You violate these Terms
• You engage in inappropriate or harmful behavior
• You provide false or misleading information
• We discontinue the Service
• Required by law or regulation

Effect of Termination

• Your access to the Service will cease immediately
• Your profile and data will be deleted
• Any matches or conversations will be lost
• You may not be able to participate in future events
• Provisions that survive termination will remain in effect

Additional Terms

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of San Francisco County, California.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

Entire Agreement

These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Hooked regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
